Culture and Diversity

Most Americans generally agree that a healthy marriage is a good thing. This common belief holds true across many cultures and backgrounds. Values and beliefs influence how couples talk to each other, share money, parent, etc. They also help couples define what marriage means to them and what a successful family looks like. Understanding these differences can improve how well couples work together, and how we teach marriage skills within various groups of people.

This section highlights initiatives to support marriage in various communities and resources for couples of varying cultures, background or ethnicity.
