Curricula for Hispanics / Latinos

HHMI LogoThe Hispanic Healthy Marriage Initiative (HHMI) is a targeted strategy led by the Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to help support efforts to deliver effective, culturally appropriate marriage and relationship education programs to Hispanic communities across the country. The HHMI has partnered with the Annie E. Casey Foundation to develop a series of supplemental curriculum modules that can be used to enhance existing healthy marriage curricula and focus discussions on issues that are targeted and specific to the experiences of Hispanic couples and families.

The following curriculum modules are not intended to be a comprehensive discussion of the issues or to replace healthy marriage and relationship curricula already in use.  They are designed as supplements to help facilitators and couples explore some unique characteristics of the Hispanic culture on marriage and relationships. 

The HHMI has worked diligently to develop this resource and hopes that the modules will expand healthy marriage programs by addressing some of the particular needs and experiences of your local Hispanic community.

IMPORTANT FACILITATOR INFORMATION:
Each Module below has 3 components:
  1. Facilitator's Handbook (for the facilitator's eyes only)
  2. Power Point Show (for the audience to view on-screen)
  3. Power Point Handouts (for printing and handing out to participants) 
Please download and use both the handbook and one of the Power Point files.  The Power Point alone does not cover the complete content of the module.  The Facilitator's Handbook is filled with important notes and additional information you will need in order to present the module to the audience.  As you click on these module components, when prompted to choose Open or Save, choose Save. Then open the file from the location where you saved it on your computer.
