Marriage Foundation Debate

The Marriage Foundation (UK) and the Sunday Times co-hosted a debate entitled "Is there a difference between marriage and cohabitation: should all cohabiting couples be treated the same?". There has been a lot of debate in the media recently on whether couples who have decided to cohabit rather than marry should have any claims against each other after they split up.

The debate was chaired by John Humphrys from BBC Radio 4's Today programme, and speakers included founder and chairman of Marriage Foundation, Sir Paul Coleridge, Dr Samantha Callan of the Centre for Social Justice, Susan Jacklin QC, Chairman of the Family Law Bar Association, journalist Kate Spicer and family law barrister Samantha Singer.
