Drawing on the ethics of Christianity, this book offers strategies for helping couples to prevent divorce by learning how to build a lifelong marriage. It begins by examining what is wrong with divorce, including scriptural condemnation of divorce, the harm to children, the negative economic impact, and the pain divorce continues to cause adults. Following sections answer 25 questions on preventing divorce, and address: how to be a marriage saver; helping single adults and seriously dating couples; marriage insurance for engaged couples; helping couples strengthen their marriage; steps for addressing deeply troubled marriages; helping the separated or divorced and stepfamilies; insuring the future marriages of single adults; participating in church to help save a marriage; working toward revising State laws to insure marriages; and creating a community marriage policy. The book closes with a Marriage Savers Declaration pledge.
