This site-specfic protocol was developed for the Community Healthy Marriage Project, located in an urban community and serving predominently low-income, African-American and Latino unwed couples who are about to become parents. The lead agency is a multi-service community-based organization that has for many years provided a wide range of supports to low-income families, including crisis intervention, assistance assessing government benefits, employment and training programs, fatherhood services, parenting classes, and other social services. Federal healthy marriage funds are being used to integrate relationship and marriage education programs into this agency’s array of services. (Author abstract)
