This article explores the impact of divorce on children and a new book that promotes staying in a marriage for the sake of children. Findings from “”The Unexpected Legacy of Divorce”” (Wallerstein) are shared and indicate: children take a long-time to get over divorce; the most harmful effects tend to show up as the children reach maturity and struggle to form their own adult relationships; children from divorce tend to marry later but divorce more often; children do not need their parents to like each other, they just need them to stay together; and parents parent better when there are two of them. Controversy surrounding the findings are discussed.
