Webinar: Engaging Latino Children and Teens | February 27, 2013 11 am EST

The webinar presented by Andrew Behnke, Ph.D., will include:
•       Effective Practice and Education on Engaging Latino Children and Teens.
•       Examples of Programs and Practice
•       Future Directions

Andrew Behnke is an Associate Professor and Human Development Specialist at North Carolina State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He is a Certified Family Life Educator through the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) and recently served as a board member of this organization. Dr. Behnke earned his doctorate in Child Development and Family Studies from Purdue University. Dr. Behnke develops programs and conducts rigorous applied research on working with Latino Families. He currently is part of a Healthy Relationship and Marriage Education Training project funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, and another project, Child Care and Youth Training and Technical Assistant Project, supported by the National Institute for Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and Department of Defense (DoD) via the University of Nebraska.  In addition, he is codeveloper of the Juntos Program a program helping Latino youth succeed in high school and continue on to college. This program is currently funded via Drop Out Prevention Funds, a Lumina Foundation grant, North Carolina 21st Century Learning Center Grant, and 4-H Council Mentoring Grants.
